Tour De Parks

We took advantage of a beautiful weekend and hit up a couple of local parks on Saturday and Sunday. Camden loves being outside and will squeal with excitement when we get close enough for him to see the playground equipment. Once he's out of the car and on the ground he's ready to take off on his own. He'll climb on anything, loves to swing and will run as far as you'll let him but still a little hesitant when it comes to going down slides.

Gooooal!!!

Gill brought Camden an adorable soccer, excuse me...football outfit when she went home to Northern Ireland. He doesn't have a ball, net or cleats to complete the ensemble
but he's one cute little player if you ask me!

Out In The Atrium

Just a quick picture post.
Camden has discovered how to get into the atrium and, with a little help, he'll slide the door open and proceed to go
in and out...in and out...in and out.
It's a nice little oasis
(although it does get warmer in there than out in the back yard)
with significantly fewer mosquitoes and other creepy crawly creatures.

Look closely...he's showing me a rock he put in his mouth.
He's such a stinker!

Little Picasso

Camden hasn't been too interested in coloring or writing just yet. He has been very interested in eating crayons, pencils or pens; but not in using them for their intended purpose. For the past couple of days he has pulled every writing utensil out of the desk drawer and removed their lids. I took this as a signal to try some coloring again.

There was a little problem with that idea though...I didn't have any crayons. Yes, the former kindergarten teacher with a half a classroom boxed away in the garage doesn't have crayons. We had to improvise. Highlighters. It was the only colored writing instruments we had in the house so we made due. (I'm heading out to buy crayons today)

After a few minutes of opening and closing the lids Camden got to scribbling. Now our kitchen has it's first "Camden Original" hanging on the wall. My little Picasso!

Mother's Day & Birthday

Both "holidays" all rolled into one!

I've been slacking on the whole blogging thing lately and honestly don't have a good excuse other than I just haven't had the desire to sit down and write anything. I'll try to get back on the ball and get my little booty back to posting.

Now back to Mother's Day/Birthday weekend...
We used the weekend as an excuse to ditch our diet and eat everything we've been depriving ourselves. Brian bought me a fruit tart that I had be hinting about for weeks. It was more sugary-cream filling than fruit but it was delicious! Saturday afternoon we trekked down to Kemah to hang out on the boardwalk. We took Camden on the Carousel, rode the train, walked the boardwalk and ate at one of my favorite resturants, T-Bone Tom's. Sunday was spent at home with a sick baby boy. Camden developed a viral respiratory infection (which we discovered after taking him to the doctor Monday) and he needed a little extra TLC.

I am truly blessed to have such a wonderfully supportive and caring husband who makes me feel special everyday. I don't know what I would do without him by my side. I am also blessed to have a healthy, spunky, adorable son who has filled my life with a happiness and love I didn't know existed until he was born. I wonderful Mother's Day and birthday with my beautiful family...I couldn't ask for anything more.

It's Puddin' Time

The pictures say it all:

I let Camden dig into his own little bowl of pudding after finishing his lunch today. He started off using his spoon so well and got 90% of the pudding in his mouth. The other 10% was on his face, in his hair or smeared across the table. He finished the last few bites with his fingers but didn't miss the opportunity to lick the bowl clean. Even after cleaning him up he still smells like chocolate.
My little puddin' pie!

A Light Green Thumb

I've never had a green thumb. I could kill a fake plant if given the opportunity! But lately I've been bitten by a gardening bug. It started with pulling the weeds in the front flowerbeds. They were starting to take over the place and I just couldn't stand it anymore. Within the last few days I've pulled three bags worth of weeds, trimmed all of the hibiscus plants, cut down a couple of small trees and pruned the rose bushes! Crazy huh?

I've always disliked working in the yard, but now I can't get enough. I'm actually looking forward to this weekend so we can trim the bushes along the side of the house, lay mulch and buy some flowers for the front yard.
