Personal Playground

Camden and I have taken full advantage of the beautiful weather this week and have spent oodles of time outside. He has recently fell in love with his swing set. He always liked it before but plays with it almost nonstop if we're in the backyard. I think he likes that he can climb, jump, sing, hang and slide all by himself.

He loves going to the park but enjoys his personal playground that's right in his own backyard. Mommy does too, no driving required and its always open and free of other kids. :)

It's Party Time

Jake is Katie's (my dear friend from college) son who is just three day younger than Camden. She and I have already decided they need to be best friends. Jake's birthday party was this past weekend at one of the indoor jumping party rooms. We jumped, slid and ran in circles before having pizza, cake and punch.
We all had a great time...especially Camden!
(as you can see below)

Happy Birthday Camden

It is official...my baby boy is two!

It is near impossible to believe that just two short years ago Brian and I traveled from Levelland to Lubbock and to be checked into the hospital for Camden's induction. He was stubborn and did things on in his own time even before he was born.

We welcomed our precious baby boy into our family on January 24th of 2008 and our lives have never been the same. I can't imagine my life or our family without him. He is truly our little blessing from God and continues to bring joy to our lives everyday.
Happy Birthday Camden!

Off Of Work-Off To The Park

Brian had today off of work and we took full advantage of that fact, and the beautiful weather, and headed out to the park.
We're always in search of new, clean and fun places to play and managed to find a winner.

We ventured out to Challenger Seven Park which was named in memory of the astronauts who lost their lives in the Challenger explosion in 1986. It is by far one of the nicest and largest parks that we've been to. There were multiple covered climbing structures, swings, picnic tables, nature trails, lakes,
boardwalks, fishing areas and a memorial.

Camden loved playing and wanted to swing the second he got out of the car. He climbed up and down the play structures, slid down the slides, swung on the swings, tackled the monkey bars, bounced on the see-saw and picked up hand fulls of rocks. After we played we found a picnic table amongst the trees and had lunch before walking around one of the small ponds where we watched the fish swim.

We all had a wonderful morning together!

Cookies

Camden and I decided to mix up a simple batch of sugar cookies the other afternoon. We poured, cracked, mixed, scooped and baked away. Once our little cookies were cool and frosted we enjoyed the fruits, or shall I say cookies, of our labor.

It was a yummy little activity to say the least.

Swinging

There is a small park a few blocks from our house that has a set of swings. Camden and I walked there this morning after breakfast. It was absolutely beautiful outside so we took advantage of the nice weather and spent the morning swinging.

Memories of Warmer Weather

These pictures were taken the week before Christmas when it was still warm enough outside to play without concern of frostbite.
(that may be a little dramatic...just a little)
I have my fingers crossed that it will warm up soon so that we can venture outside, although rain is in the forecast for later this week so we may be stuck inside longer that we both would like.

Travel, A Party and Germs

It's taken me quite a while to post anything because of all of the germs we've had floating around our house but we're finally all healthy and back to our usual routine.

Two weekends ago Camden and I flew to Las Cruces for my Grandmother's surprise 75th birthday party. GG was able to see all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

While I did manage to catch a few good pictures of the family, this is how Camden and I spent the large majority of the weekend:

We got all the way to Las Cruces when Camden decided to get sick. He spent three days coughing, sneezing, running a fever and throwing up. Thankfully, he got over throwing up before we had to fly home but didn't get to feeling 100% for a few more days.
