Chow Time

Deegan has never been shy about his appetite; the boy likes to eat and always seems hungry. So, a few days ago we decided to start our little chow monkey on cereal.

He didn't go to town like Camden did when he started cereal but doesn't seem to really dislike it either. I think he's still trying to decide exactly what it is and how excited he wants to be about it. Maybe he'll be a little more into it once we add something with flavor?

Camden was a sweet big brother during his first feeding. He offered moral support and gave numerous examples of big bites with his own dinner.

Three Years Ago...

On January 24th Brian and I welcomed our first precious baby boy into our family. Camden is a sweet, loving, compassionate, independent and comical ball of energy. He sings and talks constantly, keeps us laughing, goes 100% from the time he gets up to the time he goes to bed and gives the best hugs.

Don't let that sweet face fool you; he's a stinker too.

Happy Birthday Camden!

Back In The Backyard

When trying to title this post I found that I've had quite a few post that had something to do with us playing in the backyard. I'm sorry to report that you if don't like reading about our backyard adventures then you'll be greatly disappointed in this post. On the other hand, if you like reading about us in the backyard you'll enjoy the
pictures and captions below.

We do what we always do when venturing outside. Swing! It's so nice to have to baby swing set up right next to the big boy swing but Camden doesn't always (actually never) likes to let Deegan swing in his old swing first. I guess he feels like he has to warm up the seat before Deegan can swing or he's a little jealous that his little brother is taking over his swing. Either way, he insist on swinging first.

Camden loves to show Deegan new things. Today he was explaining to him how his bubble blower works, or how it would work if it had bubbles in it. The funny thing is, Deegan looks very interested in
Camden's demonstration.

Sidewalk chalk!
What is a driveway without chalk scribbles?

Just A Few

I have posted a lot of pictures of Camden recently so I figure it was time Deegan got his own post with updated pictures.
Isn't he the cutest little sugar booger?

Daddy's Little Helper

We had new tile installed in our kitchen close to a year ago. We decided, in an effort to save money and to do it correctly (removing the baseboards), to install the baseboards ourselves. I am happy to report that as of today they are officially and finally installed! Brian worked all weekend measuring, cutting, painting, nailing, caulking and touching up the baseboards and quarter-round in the kitchen. It looks great!

Brian did have a little helper. Honestly, he probably made the whole process take a little longer than necessary but Brian hooked him up with a paintbrush, old t-shirt and a few extra trim pieces and let him paint away.

Operation Slim Down (Week 2)

Week two of exercise didn't go as well as the first. My excuse? Germs. We finally managed to get everyone well by midweek and after all of the hacking and snotty noses I wasn't in the mood to actually workout. I only missed one cardio workout for the week (which I plan to makeup this week), didn't work in an extra toning workout and ate like junk so I can't be too disappointed with
the big zero on the weight loss this week.

Double Bubble

Have you ever been to Lush? They have bath and body products that are hand made, environmental friendly, free of many preservatives and smell o-so yummy. Brian gave me several of their bath bombs for Christmas (which I highly recommend). I had never been to the store myself so I ventured there last week and picked up a few things for myself along with a couple of bubble bars for Camden.

Camden loves bubbles!

I have often been disappointed in products that promise oodles of bubbles but I am happy to report that if you are in the market for a super bubbly bath their bath bars deliver.

If you can't tell, he had a blast in his bubbly bath!

Operation Slim Down

I have finally admitted to myself that I am chunky. Well, I've been well aware that I've packed on a few pounds (ok, more than a few) and am finally ready to do something about it. I used both pregnancy's as an excuse to eat...and eat I did. Now it's time to make all
that extra weight disappear.

For Christmas I asked for a workout program for the Wii. Brian bought me EA Sport Active 2. It is an interactive program that uses sensors and a heart rate monitor to tailor and track your workouts.

I started the Cardio Jump Start (CJS) program last Sunday. It's a three week program that consist of four workout and three rest days each week. It's supposed to help you build up your cardio fitness before beginning the nine week fitness program.

So here's where I'm at:
S-CJS Week 1 Day 1
M-CJS Week 1 Day 2
T-CJS Rest, Upper Body Workout
W-CJS Week 1 Day 3
Th-CJS Week 1 Day 4, Morning Walk
F-CJS Rest, Morning Walk
S-CJS Rest

Pounds Lost: 1

I am going to try to post a weekly update to keep myself
motivated and to hopefully see progress.

Swinging x2

It has never been a secret that Camden loves to swing. After our morning walk its usually the first thing he asks to do. "Can you swing me Momma?" Up until till the last week or so Deegan would usually fall asleep during our walk around the neighborhood and sleep peacefully in the stroller while Camden and I continued to play outside. Now, he curiously looks around as we stroll up and down the sidewalk and almost immediately lets me know that he would like to get out of the stroller once we stop moving. That can only mean one thing...

It's time for a swing built for two!
Well, it's always been built for two but simply didn't have the baby swing hung next to the big boy swing. Now it does and we're set to all swing together.

All Aboard!!

Camden came down with a nasty cold this week. We spent most of the early part of the week snuggled on the couch watching videos, taking naps, taking cough syrup and tylenol, wiping snotty noses and reading books all while in our pajamas. Once we were over the worst part of his cold and he felt like playing again we dug out
his train set and built away.
(still in our pajamas)

I can't leave Deegan out. He watched happily from the comfort of Camden's Handy Manny mini-papasan chair. He likes it much more than the bumbo chair. Can't you tell?

Little Red Raiders

Before we watched Tech play in the Ticket City Bowl (which they won-yea!) we all got dressed up in our Red Raider gear. This included both of the little guys as well.

To get the adorable picture above where both boys were looking at the camera without goofy looks on there faces wasn't an easy feat. Camden is at the stage where you say smile and he immediately makes a silly face. Catching a perfect shot of Deegan means you're good with the camera or lucky. I'm the ladder of the two.
These are a few of the other cute shots:

Too precious for words.

I don't remember what was so funny but whatever Camden was laughing at Deegan was not amused by it.

"Just a little bit."

Perfect example of a silly face pic for Camden.
