Medieval Times

This past Saturday we made what was supposed to be an hour and a half drive to the Texas Renaissance Festival. Our dear friends Tyler and Whitney came along for the ride. After all, it was 1/2 Tyler's idea that we go. As for the other 1/2, that honor belongs to Brian.

Several weeks ago while watching a Tech football game (GO RED RAIDERS!) a commercial came on advertising the festival. Tyler and Brian became very excited about the food possibilities and immediately declared that all of us were going to go. Whitney and I protested initially but actually got a little excited once we planned our trip.

We watched a jousting match, ate lots of yummy food, saw a hilarious comedy performance by Ded Bob, walked around an entire Renaissance city and saw the most eclectic mix of individuals, both young and old, most of whom were in costume.

It was a great afternoon and we're already talking about going back next year. Although, we're planning to stay longer than the three hours that we did this year. There is just too much to see in such a short trip. And don't worry...none of us will be attending in costume! :)

I always LOVE to go to the Renaissance Faire. I'm super sad that we missed it this year!
